A great practice exercise for mastering your drawing techniques is to create doodleboards or multiple sketches to fill a whole page. It helps to work from the centre and build outwards. In this example, I added a few basic shapes and then created characters inside each shape. I drew the characters at different angles and perspectives to help add depth and intrigue.
You can follow a theme for your doodleboard, or simply sketch at random. You can even invent a new world as you sketch. Use your imagination, include overlap and perspective; add different objects, irregular shapes and a variety of sizes. Try turning the page and adding detail from another angle.
This exercise will help you create images in a variety of angles and sizes great practice for when you come to incorporate your drawings into your mindmapping.
